Becci Petersen and her mom, Kathy Steinmiller, started River Ridge Creations back in 2003. With modest beginnings, in Becci’s garage, the duo started with crafting and experimenting in some embroidery. Taking their wares to craft shows on the weekends. They quickly outgrew their small space and moved into a retail location in downtown Oak Harbor. The business began to turn toward more machine embroidery and school-themed apparel.

Our Story

In 2005, they expanded into Port Clinton. Opening The EndZone, which provided the Redskin and Laker school communities with school spiritwear until 2021. They sold items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, gym bags, varsity jackets and more. Becci and Kathy also did custom orders for individuals, businesses, and teams. They thrived in the sports apparel market throughout the years, getting enthusiastic fans to come into their store.

After outgrowing their original retail location in 2009. They moved down the street to a larger and better suited building that enabled them to grow their embroidery business and enter into screen printing as well. Thus The Rocket Shop was born. Kathy then retired in 2012.

Now, nearly 25 years later, we had outgrown that space and have moved into the old VFW Hall on Main Street. We have also had our fair share of challenges. In January 2022, The Rocket Shop dealt with staffing problems due to the after effects of the pandemic. After moving into the old VFW Hall, a waterline broke and caused immense damage to the property that caused Becci to worry about the livelihood of the store. Becci didn’t let those complications stop her.

Today we service nearly 100 schools and countless businesses. Including Oak Harbor, Genoa, Woodmore, Port Clinton, and Danbury. We provide a full line of custom embroidery, screen printing, laser engraving, letterman jackets, and more. With in store items as well as full custom apparel to order.
